Rates & Service Models

Our rates are based on the service model, interpreter team configuration, language needs, setting, preparation requirements, and scheduling complexity. We confirm pricing in writing before services begin, and we’ll recommend the model that fits your request.

Transparent Pricing

What Shapes a Quote

Because every assignment is different, we don’t publish a flat price list. Instead, we build each quote around the demands of the setting and the Deaf client’s access needs.

  • Service model and team configuration
  • Number of interpreters and whether a Deaf interpreter is needed
  • Language needs (ASL, English, International Sign, BSL, or another combination)
  • Setting, format, and complexity of the assignment
  • Preparation requirements and advance materials
  • Duration and scheduling complexity
  • Recording, livestream, or distribution plans
  • Travel and location logistics

How We Structure Pricing

Service Models

We use the model that best matches your setting, frequency, and access needs. The right structure is confirmed when we scope your request.

  • One-time or short-term

    Standard ASL Request

For one-time or short-term in-person ASL requests, we typically recommend a team of two to three interpreters, depending on the setting — which may include a Deaf interpreter. Overtime is billed in set increments. Single-interpreter requests are reviewed case by case to determine whether that configuration is appropriate.

  • Businesses, government, global organizations

    Corporate & Institutional

Corporate, government, and institutional engagements are quoted at standard commercial rates. These reflect the full scope of the work: credentialed interpreter teams, preparation, coordination, and account management. Multi-event and conference engagements are scoped as a package with a single point of contact.

  • Museums, performing arts, public programs

    Cultural & Arts Engagement

Cultural and arts engagements may qualify for a dedicated rate structure, often combining an interpreter rate with a flat coordination fee. Final pricing depends on duration, language needs, team configuration, preparation requirements, and event complexity, and scales for longer or multi-day work.

  • Values-aligned organizations

    Community Partner Rates

Adjusted rates may be available for values-aligned organizations, local community partners, Deaf-led initiatives, nonprofits, museums, and arts organizations. These rates are not automatic — they are reviewed case by case based on mission alignment, scope, frequency, access needs, team configuration, budget context, and sustainability.

  • Recurring or educator-led programming

    Rate Plus Administrative Fee

For some cultural and educational programs, we may use a rate-plus-administrative-fee model. This structure separates interpreter time from coordination work and can help keep cost-per-booking reasonable for recurring or educator-led programming.

  • Public programs & special events

    Embedded Rate

For public programs and special events, we may use a single inclusive rate that accounts for interpreter services, coordination, multi-team management, and on-site or platform logistics. Embedded rates are quoted per engagement and vary by scale, length, languages, and team configuration.

  • Defined number of events over time

    Recurring / Series Rates

Recurring or scheduled series rates may be available when an organization confirms multiple events within a defined period. These rates are tied to a signed agreement that defines frequency, scope, scheduling, billing, cancellation terms, and communication procedures. Series rates apply only to events confirmed under the agreement; ad hoc bookings are quoted separately.

Good to Know

Additional Cost Factors

  • Rush Requests

Requests received within 72 hours / 3 business days of the start time may incur a rush surcharge. Rush requests are subject to interpreter availability and may require additional coordination. Submission of a rush request does not guarantee coverage.

  • Preparation Time

Preparation time may be billable when an assignment requires review of materials, scripts, exhibits, discovery, slides, or specialized vocabulary before the event. Preparation expectations are confirmed in writing when applicable.

  • Travel

Engagements outside the New York metro area may include travel time, lodging, transportation, and per diem costs. Travel terms are provided in writing before confirmation.

Please note: All rates are confirmed in writing before services begin. A quote does not guarantee interpreter coverage until interpreter team placement has been completed and confirmed by WITHdirection in writing. For how those agreements are structured, see Quotes & Agreements.
